사이버한국외국어대학교(총장 장지호)는 5월 10일(토) 서울 경복궁 일대에서 ‘2025 외국인 유학생 한국문화체험’ 행사를 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 사이버한국외대에 재학 중인 외국인 학생들이 한국의 전통문화를 직접 체험함으로써 한국 사회와 문화를 더 깊이 이해하고 구성원 간 자연스러운 교류를 나누며 소속감을 형성하도록 하기 위해 마련됐다. 사이버한국외대 글로벌교육원의 주관으로 진행된 이번 행사에는 베트남, 인도네시아, 중국 등 다양한 국적의 외국인 유학생들이 참여했으며, 학생 대표 및 교수진도 함께해 문화 교류의 의미를 더했다.

당일 비바람이 부는 다소 쌀쌀한 날씨에도 불구하고 참가자들은 전통 한복을 착용하고 경복궁을 거닐며 한국의 전통미를 만끽했다. 이들은 수문장 교대식을 관람하고 단체사진을 촬영하는 등 뜻깊은 시간을 함께했다. 행사에 참여한 한 베트남 유학생은 “한복을 입고 고궁을 함께 걸으며 한국의 전통을 눈으로 보고 몸으로 느낄 수 있어 매우 특별했던 오래 기억하고 싶은 하루였다.”라고 말했다. 인도네시아 출신의 또 다른 학생은 “문화적 배경이 다른 친구들과 자연스럽게 어울릴 수 있어 좋았고 궂은 날씨도 모두와 함께 웃으며 보낸 덕분에 오히려 기억에 남는다.”라고 소감을 전했다.

행사의 마무리에서 사이버한국외대 원종민 글로벌교육원장은 “이번 체험은 다양한 국적의 재학생들이 책이나 강의로만 접하던 한국문화를 몸소 체험하며 자연스럽게 어울린, 온라인 수업에서는 느낄 수 없었던 특별한 경험이었을 것”이라며, “문화 체험이 곧 한국어 학습의 확장으로 이어질 수 있도록 앞으로도 다양한 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영하겠다.”라고 밝혔다. 사이버한국외국어대학교는 외국인 유학생이 대학 공동체의 일원으로서 서로 연결되고 성장할 수 있도록, 문화·언어 학습은 물론 졸업 후 진로 및 취업까지 아우르는 맞춤형 체험 및 학습 프로그램을 지속 확대해 나갈 계획이다.

The event was designed to offer international students enrolled at CUFS the opportunity to experience Korea’s traditional culture firsthand, deepening their understanding of Korean society and fostering a sense of belonging through natural interactions with fellow students. Organized by the CUFS Global Education Institute, the event brought together students from diverse countries including Vietnam, Indonesia, and China, along with student representatives and faculty members, adding depth to the cultural exchange.
 

Despite the chilly and rainy weather, participants wore traditional Hanbok and strolled through the palace grounds, appreciating the beauty of Korean heritage. The group also observed the royal guard changing ceremony and took commemorative group photos, creating lasting memories together. One Vietnamese student shared, “Wearing Hanbok and walking through the palace allowed me to see and feel Korean tradition up close. It was a truly memorable day.” Another student from Indonesia added, “It was heartwarming to bond naturally with friends from different cultural backgrounds. Even the bad weather became a fond memory because we spent it laughing together.”
 

At the conclusion of the event, Won Jong-min, Dean of the CUFS Global Education Institute, remarked, “This experience offered our international students the chance to step beyond the screen and engage with Korean culture in a way they never could through online classes. We will continue to expand such programs to help cultural immersion become a meaningful extension of Korean language learning.”
