On Saturday, August 3, the Department of Korean held a special lecture titled “Guidance on CUFS Campus Life and Career Planning for ICK (Indonesian Community in Korea) Students,” aimed at Indonesian students.

Given that all learning at CUFS is conducted online and in Korean, foreign students with limited Korean proficiency may face challenges in their studies. This special lecture was designed to assist such students in navigating their academic journey.

The event was attended by over 50 participants, including faculty from the Department of Korean, members of the ICK (Indonesian Community in Korea), Indonesian students currently enrolled at CUFS, and prospective students. The lecture covered topics such as: △Course selection strategies △Navigating learning activities within the LMS (Learning Management System) △Understanding the credit system and major requirements for graduation △Career exploration through alumni success stories.

Anna Kusuma, a graduate who majored in Korean Language and minored in Korean Language Education, shared her experience, stating, “As a foreigner, there were times when my studies were challenging, but with the help of fellow Indonesian students and guidance from our professors in the Department of Korean, I was able to graduate successfully. I hope other Indonesian students can also study hard at CUFS and use their experience to benefit their career paths.”

The Department of Korean at CUFS offers two major tracks: one in Korean Language and Culture, aimed at nurturing experts in these fields, and another in Korean Language Education, designed for aspiring Korean language teachers. Both tracks, including the special lecture, provide various extracurricular programs and student support systems to help students develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.


8월 3일(토), 사이버한국외국어대학교 한국어학부는 인도네시아 학생을 대상으로 ‘ICK 학생을 위한 CUFS 학교생활 안내 및 진로 지도’ 특강을 개최했다.

학습의 모든 과정이 온라인에서 한국어로 운영되는 사이버대학교의 특성상 한국어 숙달도가 부족한 외국인 학습자들은 학업 수행 과정에서 어려움을 겪을 수 있다. 이번 특강은 그러한 학생들에게 도움을 주기 위해 마련되었다. 

이날 행사에는 한국어학부 교수진과 한국 내 인도네시아인들의 협의체인 ICK(Indonesian Community in Korea) 임원진, 인도네시아인 재학생들과 예비입학생 등 50여명이 참석했다. 특강에서는 △교과목 선택 방법 △LMS에서의 학습 활동 진행 방법 △졸업을 위한 학점 구성 및 전공제도의 이해 △졸업생 근황 공유를 통한 진로 탐색 등의 내용이 이어졌다. 

한국어학부에서 한국어 주전공과 한국어교육 복수전공을 이수한 안나 쿠수마 학우는 “외국인으로서 학업에 어려움이 있을 때도 있었지만 인도네시아 학생들과 서로 도우며 한국어학부 교수님들의 공부 방향 제시를 통해 무사히 졸업에 이를 수 있었다”며, “다른 인도네시아 학생들도 사이버한국외대에서 열심히 공부해서 진로 선택에 도움이 됐으면 좋겠다”고 소감을 전했다.

사이버한국외대 한국어학부는 한국어와 한국문화 전문가를 양성하는 외국인 대상 한국어 전공과, 한국어 교원을 꿈꾸는 이들을 위한 한국어교육 전공의 두 가지 전공과정을 운영하고 있다. 두 전공과정 모두 이번 특강 행사를 포함하여 이론과 실무능력을 함양할 수 있는 다양한 교과외 프로그램 및 학생지원 제도를 제공한다.
